Green Resources

The NAHB has introduced Model Green Home Building Guidelines to help green building practices move into the mainstream. These guidelines—which are similar to topics covered in LEED certifications—focus on:

• Lot design, preparation, and development
• Resource efficiency
• Energy efficiency
• Water efficiency
• Indoor environmental quality
• Operation, maintenance, and homeowner education
• Global impact

The NAHB is also developing a National Green Building™ Standard. The standard assigns points in the areas noted above.
