Delta® Kitchen and Bath Product Design Clued In To Industry Trends

Aged Pewter Finish Adds Fresh Style to Victorian® Bath Collection

CHICAGO

Delta® has been supplying consumers and industry professionals with quality products backed by design and innovation for more than 50 years. At the 2006 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), the brand showcases how its products complement today’s home interior trends through style-setting vignettes.

“We want consumers to think in terms of the whole space, not just in terms of a single product,” said Judd Lord, director of industrial design for Delta. “By paying close attention to what’s hot in the market, each product we create ties into today’s trends designed to endure, in contrast to fads that go out of style.”

Updating existing product is another way to keep up with consumers’ demand for stylish product. At KBIS, Delta introduced the Aged Pewter finish to the extremely popular Victorian® Bath Collection.  Aged Pewter has a rich, textured appearance that is more visually stimulating than monochromatic finishes and plays well to today’s growing casual trend. Combining the Victorian’s turn-of-the-century styling and the distinctive, old-world look of Aged Pewter, gives an unexpected twist to a classic design in the bath. The new finish will extend to the Victorian’s entire suite of bath products, including a full line of coordinating accessories and lighting, from lighting partner Progress Lighting.

“Since its introduction last year, the Aged Pewter finish has shown tremendous success among consumers,” said Faye Adams, senior product marketing manager, Delta.  “Both
the Victorian Collection and Aged Pewter reflect the ‘Traditions’ trend, a classic and everlasting American mainstay.”

Traditionalism provides a warm, elegant feel to any room.  Deep, rich tones classify this era and the design of products like Delta’s Victorian Kitchen and Bath Collections and the Saxony™ kitchen pull-out fit right in.

Along with the look of “Traditions” are other trends that are and will continue to be popular in the home:

  • The Casual look, otherwise known as “sophisticated country,” features distressed accents and whimsical touches, while handcrafted details create an artistic look. The Leland™ Collection of kitchen and bath faucets reinterprets familiar teapot architecture with a youthful, transitional feel and blends well in this casual, comfy setting.
  • Urban or “City Limits” is characterized by loft-style living and high rises nestled in metropolitan areas. High ceilings and open living and kitchen areas combined with minimalist, crisp lines and geometric forms, such as The Michael Graves™ Collection and the C-Spout™ bath series capture this growing trend.
  • The Metro trend, an off-shoot of Urban design, mixes hints of Country and Urban by pairing decorative, distressed pieces such as cabinets or black and white checkered floor tiles with modern, geometric products such as the Ellington™ bath faucet. This look evokes pleasant surprise by combining design elements from two contrasting trends, but pulls it off by tying them together with the perfect combination of color, texture and form.
