Our History
1990s: Leadership in Product Development
In the new construction channel, code changes influenced the growth of the pressure balance tub/shower category. The Delta Monitor pressure balance series featuring Scald-Guard® technology gained instant popularity with builders, plumbers and consumers.
To support growth in commercial markets, we completed the purchase of a Canadian operation in London, Ontario, which became the first Delta manufacturing plant outside of the U.S. in 1992.
In 1995, as retail continued to grow, a decision was made to sell the Delta brand directly to retailers like The Home Depot® and Lowe's®. This was an important turning point in our history because it allowed Delta to establish relationships in this important channel.
Domestic and international growth led to the opening of still another plant in 1995 — this time in Jackson, Tennessee.
As consumer demand increased for special finishes that hold up to the rigors of everyday use, Delta broke new ground in 1996 as the first faucet manufacturer to offer a PVD finish: the Delta Brilliance® anti-tarnish finish.
